Qoute of the moment

Behind the mask of our everyday persona lies our true face, we had before we were born. Unweathered by time and beauty is this face behind the face. The soul, covered over by layers of hardened emotion and rigid mental structure, finally crystallizes into the human mask we all wear so proudly. The light that radiates from a newborn's tiny face is slowly stolen away by the thief of time, leaving behind a sculpted visage on which is etched all that we have thought and felt throughout our life. Focusing on the mask's gaze, we are reminded of the timeless challenge that confronts our modern lives... to rediscover the essence of our existence, to see our original face in the shimmering mirror of the soul, to walk in beauty and light, and to truly live.

Cold Reading through Character
Killing the intellectual pressures of creating character
Taught by Master Teacher Aole T. Miller
Saturday, May 19th, 2007, 12pm to 6pm - $100

This six hour workshop will incorporate mask work and Aole's presence work while applying it to cold scenes and monologues. One of the most challenging aspects of the career of the actor is to attempt to create an interesting and compelling character under the pressure and time constraints of the commercial world of film, television, and theatre. Do you feel like you have more information on how to approach a cold scene than you know what to do with? The entrance into deep transformative character transformation is connected to getting present with the character's image and archetype.
You will leave this workshop with a clear process to transforming into a character immediately and feel confident in your choices in a cold reading.
