I'm learning to listen when masks speak.
Every mask I create is a part of me, a visible
representation of one facet of who I am.
We've forgotten to listen. We've forgotten to trust
ourselves. We all carry wisdom deep within us.
Masks are a vehicle to reconnect with, and learn
from, parts of ourselves that have, until now been
silent or ignored, but have a great deal to tell us.

A cyber-auction of masks of the world?s goddesses, created by Lauren Raine. Since 1999, they?ve traveled across the U.S. for exhibits, rituals, conferences and community performances. The auction is now thru January 27th at /www.rainewalker.com> ? click on the Auction page.
Dear Friends,
Since 1999, my "Masks of the Goddess," an homage to the Divine Feminine, have traveled across the U.S. for exhibits, rituals, and community performances. The Goddesses have appeared in theatres in Sebastopol and Tucson, in the woods at the Starwood Festival, at the Chapel of the Sacred Mirrors in New York City, at Syracuse University's "Matrilineage Festival" and the Mask Symposium at the University of Illinois, and many other venues. In 2006 it was my privilege to see the full collection reunited at the 27th Annual Spiral Dance at Kezar Pavilion in San Francisco. No artist could ask for more.
Now new visions impel me. I want to travel the world on personal pilgrimage. "Numinous" is a conversation with "spirits of place" I hope will come from that journey. It's time for the masks to find new homes, so I'm offering them, through an auction, to you. I've purposefully made the prices low because I want to see them go to people who will find them inspiring, and continue their creative journey.
I'm also delighted to offer 30% of the proceeds to benefit The Independent Eye - the extraordinary, funny, magical theatre ensemble of Elizabeth Fuller and Conrad Bishop for their new initiative in visionary puppetry, The Mythic Kitchen. (/www.independenteye.org>)
So if you'd like to purchase one or more of the masks, it's simple. Enter my gallery at /www.rainewalker.com>, visit the auction page, and enter a bid by writing to me at laurenraine@aol.com.
And thank you, everyone, for your inspiration and support over the years. I'm so grateful for all we've shared. Metaquiesin.
Lauren Raine
