| Description: | On the fourth weekend of August, the "Ducasse" festivities take place in Ath's historical centre. For a few days, the whole town is vibrant with enthusiasm for its traditions and folklore. On Saturday, after Goliath's wedding, the giant fights against the shepherd boy David. On Sunday, there is a procession with several giants, floats and picturesque groups going through the streets of the city.
This medieval tradition has become more and more attractive. Ath's inhabitants proudly take part in the historic and folkloric procession. After the vespers of Saturday, everybody eats a piece of the local and tasty "Masteilles" tart.

Held on a Sunday afternoon in mid-July (usually the hottest day of the year!), the parade heralds the opening of the Muscatine County Fair and is followed by a community-wide picnic in the park.
