Won Ldy Paye
Description: Won Ldy Paye was a talented leader in the Dan tribal masquerade tradition of Liberia before emigrating to Seattle in the 1990s. Won performs as a storyteller, dancer, musician, and organizer of masquerades for audiences in the Pacific Northwest. He constantly expresses his hope that masquerading will not deteriorate, as it "seems to work for people." In the course of the 20th Century, masks have worked to spawn artistic discoveries, judge misconduct, resolve disputes, and order societies in ways that leaders alone now seem unable to do.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame/ Ophaboom Theatre
Description: Transported back to a medieval world of theatre and music in moments. The Ophaboom Theatre's half mask interpretation of the classic,Victor Hugo novel is both refreshingly different ( in a very familiar way?) and totally absorbing. This performance illustrates the difference between stage and screen most emphatically. The dialogue is crisp, witty and spontaneous. The performance dynamic, explosive and passionate.
