Creaturiste
Description: For your specific needs in fine masks. Form and function combine, there are no compromises. Creaturiste is always seeking good opportunities for creative expression. All his masks are extremely strong yet surprisingly lightweight. They are all meant to last. Each work is a true collaboration between the artist and the patron. From the cute to the gasthly, you can be sure research and passion will come into the mix to achieve the unique result you are after. This artist enjoys a challenge, and welcomes original and outlandish requests. Design-only commissions are welcome. International orders are encouraged. Creaturiste masks are expressive, made for performance, comfortable, and adjustable. They are specifically created to withstand the hardships of shows, touring, and even workshops with students. Most Creaturiste works include paper mache strips in one form or another. This misunderstood category of art material is actually one of the most versatile in existence. The techniques are inspired from old traditions, including Venetian paper maskmaking techniques. Creaturiste gives creative and technical workshops in maskmaking regularly.

Valerie T. Bechtol  Popular
Description: " Transformation through ritual is a continuing theme permeating and influencing my perception that object and image, at times transcend aesthetics to address rites of passages, rebirth and the mystical. The ritualistic process of manipulating objects and materials to the point of reinvention functions as a metaphor for power. For me, transformation is based on synthesizing the energy from the found objects and materials with the energy of one's emotional and psychological state. The work is more than simply objects; they are incarnations of spiritual forces and seem to have a life and power of their own." Quote the artist

Azur et les A?roplanes  Popular
Description: ? Azur & les A?roplanes ?, a theatre company founded by visual artist Patricia Gattepaille, has chosen to explore the infinite and extraordinary territories of the Mask. Why the Mask ? What the genius of mankind has invented to celebrate the gods and nature, Mourn the dead, glorify the living, laugh, provoke awe or admiration, educate, celebrate Love, solemnise meetings, mock, recite poetry, cure? All this has been done by calling on the Mask.. In theatre, the Mask is a sculpture as much as it is a character. One does not wear a Mask thoughtlessly but with lightness and precision. Wearing a Mask involves bringing into play one?s own humanity. Restoring the Mask?s spectacular place at the heart of life. Participating in the understanding of the world?s cultures through the Mask. ? Azur & les A?roplanes ? pursues these two objectives through various activities : mask making on commission, training courses for professionals, exhibitions, shows, creative workshops for all. We will mask them all ! Just to clear things up?
