Albertas Zulkus - Lithuania 
Description: Albertas Zulkus, a woodcarver and a member of Lithuanian association of traditional art, was born in Telsiai in 1933. He graduated from Scool of Applied Art in Telsiai and since 1958 lives and works in Palanga.As the years passed, he organized six personal exhibitions in Lithuania, Sweden, Germany and France. His works are exhibited the Museum of Amber in Palanga, one of the largest museums of this kind in Europe. While artist?s newest works wait for their owners in his workshop and art galleries, most of them are already spread out around the world and found their place in private hands, collections and museums ? all owned by the people who understand and appreciate beauty.

Description: "My ideas were unconventional at the time, developing abstract figures inspired by the form and texture of the piece of wood I had selected. Combining traditional themes with modern poses and more sensual shapes." "I was born in Bali on the 17th of June 1973. I am the oldest of seven children, in a family consisting of four brothers and three sisters. I started to learn to sculpt at the age of eight when I was still in primary school, learning from my father how to carve traditional statues from wood.

Arctic Raven Art Gallery. North West Coast Native Masks 
Description: The northwest coast cultures were rich and diverse. We have representations of the Kwakiutl, Coast Salish, Nu Chah Nulth, Tsimshian and Haida people. The diversity between northwest coast natives reflects itself in their woodcarving and mask making. Today, the art has adapted itself to glass, printmaking and bronzes. These new art forms are destined to become tomorrow's tradition.

Art Thompson 
Description: Beyond his reputation as an artist, Art Thompson has also been an important educator, lecturer, and ambassador for Northwest Coast art and culture. He has traveled extensively as a guest of governments, museums and corporations to give lectures and to demonstrate Northwest Coast carving and design. He has overseen numerous collaborative projects involving the input of many artists and organizational groups. He has dedicated his time and resources in raising funds for important causes such as the Victoria Symphony Orchestra, the Multi-Cultural Centre for Camosun College, the Victoria Art Gallery and native education in British Columbia.

Beckie Kravetz 
Description: Beckie Kravetz is an artist whose work is inspired by stories from around the world: opera themes, opera characters, myths, legends, and fairy tales. She trained in theater arts and mask-making at the Yale School of Drama and Italy's Centro Maschere e Strutture Gestuali, then apprenticed to mask-maker Ralph Lee on "The Wildman Project" at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York. She later studied wooden mask carving at Taller de Madera in Guatemala.

Description: Wonderful Masks and characters ! Wie ein Virus nimmt die Fasnacht am 6. Januar jeweils Hunderte von Begeisterten in Beschlag. Die Narren und N?rrinnen ?bernehmen das Regierungszepter f?r einige Wochen. Die H?fner Narrenfahrt setzt ein un?bersehbares Startsignal f?r die ?ffentlichkeit und die verschiedenen Einschellergruppen treten in Aktion. ?rtliche Umz?ge, Maskenb?lle und Kost?mpr?mierungen folgen. Zudem findet j?hrlich ein Bezirksumzug - abwechslungsweise in den drei H?fner Gemeinden - statt. Der Narrenbaum mit allen Bezirksmasken wird jeweils im Umzugsort in der entsprechenden Ortschaft aufgestellt.
