CLAY SCULPTURE MASKS by Ginger Edwards,
Description: I am a sculptor. My passion is sculpture. I love this earthy, hands on, get it all over you, touchy, feely art form of sculpture. There's excitement with every pour and firing. The delight when wonderful things happen more than compensates for the disappointments of losses and the failures. Where do I get my sculpture ideas? Sometimes I know just what I want to make. Often times I just start, using any tool I can get my hands on and if the material suggests an idea, I go for it. I believe this is why I feel such excitement and adventure in what I am doing.

Christina Conrad / Clay Masks / New Zealand
Description: Christina Conrad is a well-known eccentric in her native New Zealand. For more than 20 years she lived as a recluse, hacking out her own, tribal wilderness. These masks are reflections of the wraiths and spirits with whom she kept, and continues to keep, company. Conrad says: "There is something magical about holding a lump of clay in one's hands. It speaks. The unconscious is working, opening, while the hands are busy
