The Black Necked Crane Festival is held every year on 12th Nov. in Phobjikha. The festival was started by the local community of Phobjikha and RSPN in 1998 to raise awareness on the black necked cranes and help in their conservation. It also provides an opportunity for the local people to raise some income through footstalls, handicraft and games stalls.
