Link profile: MEXICAN MASKS / Victoriano SalgadoCategory: Start / Maskmakers / Wood
Mr. Salgado has been creating masks for the last 63 years. Mr. Salgado learned this skill from several mask makers of the Magdalena neighborhood where he grew up. He was the first member of his family to practice this art. His masks are currently used for festivals and carnivals in the Uruapan region. Mr. Salgado creates over 60 different masks but unfortunately most of them have to be ordered with a delivery time ranging from 2 to 4 months depending of the mask. His specialty includes the dance of the Se?or Naranjo, and the dance of the Tataqueri, Corcovi, Negritos and Viejitos.
