Horse + Bamboo Theatre makes visual theatre in which music and story-telling is central, and where the purpose of telling stories is what they reveal. Our approach is practical and empirical rather than theoretical; to create complex, beautiful, contemporary and informed theatre that doesn’t require verbal explanation.

We tour our work within the UK and internationally. We also have a strong commitment to our local community in Rossendale, where our space, the Boo, earns its living as a venue and creative space for other artists, as well as a centre for visual theatre and a workshop where we create our own productions.
