MAKING MASKS: latex molds and cast paper RSS

    • I have two questions:
What kind of latex do you use for the molds for casting paper? Is it the brush on kind that you have to do in layers or a different kind?

I work with pulp and strip methods of papiermache. I'd love to also make my own pourable/liquid papiermache slip to use for other objects or parts for masks. I know there are commercial slips available, such as Liquache, but they are too expensive for my humble budget, and anyway, I like to make things from scratch. Does anyone have a recipe or suggestion?

      THANKS!
      Jonette
