MAKING MASKS: Using a mold or freehand? RSS

    • For paper macheing, is it be better to make a mask freehand, or using a mold (then changing the details)? The second choice seems to be easier, but I can't find any molds for masks anywhere. Also, is gesso really needed after the paper dries / before the paint goes on? I've got some 'all-purpose sealer' (sandable) that supposedly does the same thing, but I'm not sure.
