MATERIALS: Sculpt 'n Coat Question RSS

    • I'm wondering how masks made with Sculpt 'n Coat hold up over time. Do they warp or deform or otherwise misbehave? I find if I leave a papier-mache and Sculpt 'n Coat mask on a table for a couple of days, the mask will sag out of shape just a little, but will go back into shape when it's picked up and prodded. I'm wondering if I were to stick one in the closet for a couple of years what would I find when I took it out again..... In many ways this material seems to be the answer to all my prayers (transforms beautiful but oh so fragile Paperclay casts into things that can be kicked across the room without ill effect) but I worry about selling masks made with it if I don't know how it will hold up! Thanks for your help!

    • when i use it to make props or masks i use a heat gun or place it in the oven and then use a good sealer and i have never had any warping. anouther good investment is wig manaquens, i like the retro glass ones but the styrophome ones are just as good and cheeper
