PaPIER MaCHE: Anyone know about sand dried paper mache? RSS

    • I have seen the results of sand dried paper mache, but I do not know the method, this is used, I know by russian puppeteers in Moscow central Theatre, the basic idea is (I think) some way of pressing the paper mache head or mask into hot sand thus compressing it making the material stronger while drying it fast and leaving a smooth finish. My question to throw out there is... does anyone know the exact method for this technique?

    • Are you sure the method wasn't 'dry sanding' paper mache?
