• My name is Ian Mendelsohn and I am part of the production team at Noble Fool Theatricals, an equity theatre in the western suburb of Chicago, St. Charles, IL. We are in need of Roman Masks for a production A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM. Our lighting designer and set designer wish to use them as footlight covers for downstage. We need approx. 9 or ten. Preferable on the less than expensive side. If anyone has any ideas or information, that would be very helpful... thanks so much

    • Hello Ian.

By Roman masks, do you mean Gladiators, Gods, Emperors, or satirical masks of that sort? Do they need to be translucent to be used as covers for lights or just flat silhouettes? How hot are the footlights? Please elaborate.

      Thanks.

    • Sorry for the lack of clarity. We're looking for masks like the ones they used in Theater to portray the various characters. They shouldn't be clear as they will be used to hide the footlights from view of the audience. They will get fairly hot though but they will not be touching the lights in anyway. Please feel free to email me directly at imendelsohn@noblefool.org. Thanks so much.
