MAKING MASKS: Looking to get into Maskmaking

     I've been looking into maskmaking for a while now, and I've decided that I'd like to start making masks. I'm new to maskmaking, unless you count one mask in grade 3 to be an introduction...

     I'm interested in making paper-mach? masks, but I have a question regarding head forms. I'd like to use a headform as a base for my masks, to make them wearable, but I have no idea where to find one or how to best prepare it for use.

     If anyone has any tips or hints as to where I can get myself a headform (I live in Canada), I would very much appreciate it.

     I wonder if by now you have found what you need along the lines of a head form? What kind did you need? Do you mean the styrofoam heads or just the face form? I have some new, as well as previously used styrofoam heads that I sell. Either way, I'll be glad to work within your budget if you need them. Are you in the U.S.A.?

     You may be able to buy some wig forms from a beauty supply store in your area. It's easy to work with the wig forms by using plastic wrap overlaying the form and then adding your mache on top.

     Either way, please let us know how your masks turn out, O.K?
