MAKING MASKS: WOW! Intricate Gold Wiring? RSS

    • I have seen this intricate gold wiring that is usually placed on the eyes. Does anyone know how this is made from scratch? Here is the link so you get a better understanding of what I'm talking about:

    • I believe that that's not wiring - I think it's die-cut metal. I've seen a lot of those.
      What you'd need if you wanted to make it yourself would either be a lot of metal-cutting equipment and some thin sheets of metal, or a die cutter like a big cookie cutter that's probably going to have a very hard edge (perhaps even diamond-coated) so that it won't be damaged in punching through the sheet metal. It would be expensive equipment to buy, and even more expensive to make, but it allows for mass-production.
      On the other hand, I think that if you did try to do some wirework in a similar style it would be gorgeous. I've been experimenting with the idea myself, but haven't found technique that works well for me. Good luck!
