    • Can anyone advise me about working with Rice Paper?
Up until this point I've made Masks from coffee filters soaked in wall paper paste but I've been told that rice paper makes for a more durable mask, I want to try working with new materials, but I'm just a little intimidated.

Also can anyone tell me where to find cheap rice paper in the Greater Toronto Area?

      Thanks in advance : )

    • I haven't used coffee filters or rice paper, but was advised to try and use any un-sized (i.e. not sealed for writing on) paper. Blotting paper is ideal as is cartridge paper as both soak up the water/paste mix and become very pliable. A suitable substitute is construction paper, although it needs a little more soaking. Best paper I've used is the Carta Lana wool paper, but it is expensive if you're making a lot of masks.

      Hope ths helps.

    • Have you ever used toilet paper. You can make extremely thin and strong masks using toilet paper making a mash out it.

For information about rice paper try calling the Paper Store in NYC on 13th Street.
      Enjoy
