    • among other things i enjoy making large full head type masks by applying stuck paper and then paper pulp clay over an armature. my problems are in the armature or rather the materials i use for them. i first atempted basket cane but that dud not work, i then tryed armature wire but that was too floppy and rusted quickley. coat hangers work but are difficault to work with.

    • Perhaps for an armature you could try fabric coated millinery wire.

    • Have you thought about floristry or garden wire? They come in a variety of thickness and stiffness, are generally rust-free and those that aren't are usually plastic coated. I found in my local cheap garden centre a roll of thick stiffish wire which would probably be ideal, as it can be bent by hand, but holds it's shape.
