    • Hi everyone,

I want to make a venetian mask but have no idea where to start! Can anybody help? I am currently looking for a template (Mannequin head) but other than that i dont know what else i need.

I own a venetian mask which is very well made but im node sure what it is made from? Are all venetian masks made using papier mache?

Thanks for you time, hope to hear from you all soon

    • Venetian masks are typically made with papier maché or ceramic, which makes them fragile and/or quite heavy.

If you want to start with something easy, I recommend getting a plastic face mold from Hobby Lobby, or a similar craft store.

Some of the best paper-mache masks I've seen are from http://www.goblinart.com/ - she uses a mold to press the paper into a shape, then paints it after it dries.
